An introduction to Frames by Marissa
Hi there! My name is Marissa and I'm the one running Frames by Marissa.
Although my main focus is photography, I love to write and I wanted a space to talk about all things sports photography and the sports content community as a whole. So, welcome to my corner of the internet! I am planning a Q & A blog up next, so I would love to see some questions in the comments that I can answer.

Personal Background
I am 24 years old and originally from Coral Springs, Florida. I moved to Bismarck when I was 13 and attended high school there. After high school, I moved to Moorhead to attend MSUM and have stayed in the Fargo-Moorhead area for the last five years. I have a 2 and a half-year-old yellow lab named Parker who is just the absolute light of my life. In my free time I like to listen to music, read, and do arts and crafts.
Photography Background
I earned a bachelors degree in photojournalism from Minnesota State University Moorhead in May of 2022. I worked for MSUM's football team for three years and worked for MSUM's GO!Team for two years. I loved my time as a sports photographer at MSUM and am so thankful for all of the coaches, athletes, families, and teammates that believed in me and my work who inspired me to keep going on my sports photography journey.
After I graduated, I worked for 6 months as a morning show producer at WDAY-TV. After a few months spent there, I realized I really wanted to get back into my photography roots and I am now a full-time photographer for an architect firm in Fargo.

Fargo Force
At MSUM, I was friends with the Force's photo/video guy at the time, Sean. There was one night where Sean needed a second-shooter, so he called on me to come out to the game to help. I had never even watched hockey, let alone photographed it before, but I was super excited for the opportunity.
After graduation, Sean moved to Minneapolis to work with the Minnesota Wild, so I asked if I could take over as the photographer for the next season and the rest is history! I've been so lucky to shoot for the Force for the last two seasons as well as some really cool events at Scheels Arena like the 2023 NCAA DI Western Region Championship, NDHSAA Boys and Girls Class A Hockey Championships, and the Indoor Football League Gridiron Classic.

Future Plans
I never thought that sports photography would become my deepest passion, but I truly love what I do so much.
I'm hoping that a move to Minneapolis is in my near future and I would love to work with the Gophers, the Wild or the Vikings!
I am super open to any sports photography position, wherever it may take me. Fingers crossed for an exciting opportunity to come my way this fall.
